ARTEMUS GROUP ANNOUNCES ITS GLOBAL COMMERCE COURSE AND DOCUMENTATION WEBINAR DATES FOR JANUARY 2010 

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia – Artemus Group announced today that they will put on their first ever “Webinar” for Export and Import Documentation Training.  These Webinar’s will take place on Wednesday 27 January 2010 for Export Documentation and Thursday 28 January 2010 for Import Documentation.  The course will run 9am to 12 noon USEC time and will cost $99 per participant.  Artemus Group will also provide their Global Commerce, Trade and Transportation Course (Shipping 101) in Virginia Beach, VA on January 25 2010 – Thursday January 28 2010.  

The Export Documentation Webinar is designed for those who work within Carriers, Forwarders, NVOCC’s, Exporters, Customs House Brokers and Agents.  This 3-hour class introduces the basics of export documentation requirements that come with the responsibility of exporting cargo internationally. The topics covered in this seminar include: The Bill of Lading and its legal, negotiable and ownership purpose, The roles of the intermediaries and the transportation operators in export documentation, Type of Documents issued at load port, The Ex Dec (SED), US Customs Export Requirements, Letters of Credit, Hazardous Cargo Declarations and other Documents, Key Terms and Document examples and each participant will receive a Text Book and Certificate of Completion.

The Import Documentation Webinar is designed for those who work within Carriers, Forwarders, NVOCC’s, Importers, Customs House Brokers and Agents.  This 3-hour class introduces the basics of import documentation requirements that come with the responsibility of importing cargo from international origins.  The topics covered in this seminar include, Inbound Procedures at Port of Discharge, Arrival Notices, Customs and Freight Manifests, Delivery Orders, I.T. and other Intermodal Moves, US Customs Import Requirements including The 24 hour Rule and ISF or (10+2), Customs Examinations, Terminal Operator Requirements, USDA Requirements and paperwork, Customs' Bonds, Types of Customs' Entries and Quotas, Key Terms and Document examples and each participant will receive a Text Book and Certificate of Completion.  

Global Commerce, International Transportation and Trade (Shipping 101) course is designed to address all aspects of the export and import process. It allows employees within the industry and those just entering it, from Manufacturers, Distributors, Shipping Services Companies to information technology executives, to gain a detailed knowledge of the ocean shipping process. The program also helps to create an educated and knowledgeable labor pool within the shipping industry for temporary and permanent placement.

Participants go through a series of classroom lectures and hands-on exercises such as creating booking, choosing transport modes, and creating shipping documents. In addition, the International Commerce course includes the following sections and topics: 

  • The History of Containerization and Future Trends
  • Shipping and Maritime Geography
  • Rate Quotation & Service Contract and Tariff review
  • Booking Cargo Shipments
  • Equipment Management & Control
  • Intermodal Transportation
  • Export Documentation
  • Terminal & Marine Operations/ Vessel Stow & Load
  • Vessel Arrival/ Import Documentation
 

The advanced tuition for this course is $895.  This includes the text book, work book, geography book, port tour and CEU Certificate upon satisfactory completion of the final exam.
